Your DuraLife® composite deck is highly durable, and it doesn’t take much to maintain its beauty. To prolong its lifespan and keep its good looks for years to come, here’s a short guide on how to properly care and clean it.

General Cleaning

Regularly sweep the leaves, twigs and other small debris on the deck surface so they won’t pile up and end up in the gaps between the deck boards.

Wash With Warm, Soapy Water

After sweeping, you can wash your DuraLife deck with warm, soapy water. Make sure to use mild dish soap and a sponge for gentle cleaning.

Remove Grease Stains

Grease stains can be removed using a gentle laundry detergent without bleach. Simply wipe the stained area, and leave it to air dry. Use alcohol wipes for spot cleaning.

Remove Construction Adhesive and Marks

If you have recently renovated your deck, you may find adhesive marks on your deck boards. These can gather dust and debris if you don’t get rid of them immediately. You can remove these adhesive marks with isopropyl alcohol and a nylon bristle brush or a rag. Just lightly brush the adhesive off or gently wipe it away. Then, rinse the area with water.

Fix Scrapes and Scratches

You can use a heat gun to warm up and blend the damaged part of the polypropylene cap-stock material back into the deck board’s surrounding surface. Make sure you don’t position the heat gun closer than 2 inches away from the deck board. You should also maintain a continuous motion when holding the heat gun to avoid damaging the deck board.

Remove Snow

A plastic-edged shovel is the only recommended tool for removing ice, snow and debris from a DuraLife deck.
